

Second Extinction will be coming to PC via Early Access in September of this year, with the official Xbox Series X and PC release slated for later in 2021. The different areas of the game will also include special “Emergence Events” that function like special horde-mode events or missions that reward players but can shape the dinosaurs and environment that the action is taking place in. The higher the threat level, the more likely it will be that players will need a party, different weaponry or a higher level to attempt that area. Along with different enemy types, players will need to be careful in how they approach different sectors of the game, as certain areas are designated with a Threat Level between 1 and 3. And according to a tweet posted by the development team, the Second Extinction release. With a huge variety of mutated dinosaurs from electric raptors to colossally-sized T-Rexes, players will need to use the game’s wide variety of unique weaponry to advance through the varying areas of the game. Developers Systemic Reaction has confirmed that the Second Extinction release date on Xbox One on April 28. The War Effort is all about the community making a difference, so Second Extinction will now launch as an Early Access title. Shown in the trailer, “War Effort” will track player statistics from previous in-game events to determine new degrees of difficulty or challenges for future missions.

The mode will also allow players to play in a community-driven environment where the developers will be continuously adding content that develops over the game’s life, such as new enemy types, missions or in-game services. As more players squad up to defeat the army of mutated dinosaurs, the world and enemies in the game’s world will change and evolve. According to the developers, the unique “War Effort” mode is a community-focused game mode that has an effect on the overall game’s meta, world, and challenges available.
